PRACTICAL MASTERCLASS ON ACCRUAL IPSAS IMPLEMENTATION AND COMPLIANCE: TECHNIQUE AND SOLUTION

PREAMBLE

Implementing IPSAS is fraught with issues and challenges that require practical solutions, which can only be provided by those with sound practical field experience in the implementation of IPSAS. That is why we have designed this programme to leverage our rich practical field experience, spanning over ten years, in the implementation of both Cash and Accrual-based IPSAS.

The IPSAS implementation goal is to bring your accounting system into compliance with IPSAS. But what does compliance with IPSAS mean? What are the requirements for compliance with IPSAS? These are what you will learn and master practically in this masterclass.

This masterclass is designed as a practical workshop to expose the participants to the practical issues and challenges involved in the implementation of accrual IPSAS and the various ways to resolve them. The training will also take the participants through the practical requirements for full compliance with IPSAS.

Please note that this training is not about the promulgated IPSAS standards. However, the training will take the participants from the fundamental principles of accounting, through the IPSAS Conceptual Framework and policies, to national domestication requirements, to lay a sound theoretical foundation for practical implementation of IPSAS.

The training comprises two modules of five days duration each, meant to be taken separately. However, the first module is a prerequisite for the second.

OBJECTIVE

This training is meant to equip the staff of the Accounts department and IT support staff with the technical knowledge and skills required to implement accrual IPSAS and embed it in the system, to bring about full compliance with the standards.

This training is designed for all the staff of the Accounts Department. Staff of the IT Department who provide technical support for the system running accounting software must also attend.
